Yu Mori began serializing this manga series on June 7, 2013. He completed the manga series on September 10, 2020, after the ninth volume was released. The original material was used so hurriedly by Studio Connect that the programs felt rushed. They skipped over several plot arcs. Despite this, the anime did not leave out any significant events from the manga. Mahouka Koukou no Yuutousie anime used up all of the original material throughout thirteen episodes.
The anime’s first season finale ended in the eleventh volume of the manga series. As a result, Connect animation companies currently lack sufficient source material to produce The Irregular at Magic High School Season 2. The manga series’ second season was launched early this year, however, it only contains one volume so far. As a result, the production company will be unable to employ them in the second season.
