If a person’s crime coefficient is greater than the permitted 100, the Crime Investigation Department may make an arrest based on the findings of a cymatic scan, which can indicate how stressed a person is. They will either be isolated or executed based on their Crime Coefficient. The protagonist of the narrative is a young woman named Akane Tsunemori.

She resides in a dystopian Japan in which the Sibyl System rules. She will collaborate with enforcers as a new Inspector in Division 1 of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Public Safety Bureau (PSB).
