Onichan wa Oshimai! the 2023 anime adapted from the manga of the same name has already created a lot of buzz in the anime community. So much so that, the fans are now expecting Onichan wa Oshimai! Season 2 is to be released after the ongoing season.
Filled with its own twists and a colorful backdrop, Onichan wa Oshima has been able to capture the hearts of its audience far and wide. Mahiro Oyama in one way can be described as a simpleton, someone who would rather stay at home and play games, rather than have a job or any aspiration that would push him in his life. His sister Mihari on the other hand, is a prodigy and genius- she was a budding scientist. one day, Mahiro wakes up in the morning as a woman, and realizes this was the result of an experiment in Mihari’s “Big Brother Rehabilitation Project”. Unable to accept his new identity, Mahiro refuses to see through his ever-decreasing masculinity.
Upon being taught about hair care, Mahiro tries out new hairstyles as Mihari helps him out. After a month of the transition, Mahiro also experiences his first menstruation, as Mihari helps him out. A new character named Kaede, Mihari’s friend is introduced next who also helps Mahiro in getting around his new identity by cooking him lunch and putting make-up on him.
Mihari also catches Mahiro mimicking a female character from the television, leaving him to laze around until morning. Mahiro loses in a video game match against Mihari and thus shops for groceries, where he befriends Momiji, Kaede’s middle school sister. While tidying up his room, Mahiro accidentally knocks over his erotic comic book collection in front of Momiji, however, Mahiro assures him that they belonged to his brother.
Onichan wa Oshimai! Season 2 Plot
Beyond the intense pink color palette and endearing conversations, lies the anime’s ever-so-eccentric and unconventional plot. The anime revolves around the story of Mahiro Oyama, a simple and normal ‘otaku’ guy, who has been living his life till now in the laziest way possible- without any career or any ambition. His life is turned upside down, when his impressive and unconventional younger sister turns him into a cute and attractive young girl, with her scientific skills.
Mahiro wakes up as a woman in the morning and soon realizes that life will not be easier for him from then on. Mahiro must now learn to live as a middle school girl, and he must also make friends in his school. Amidst all of these circumstances, Mihari, Mahiro’s scientist sister is as determined to study him, as he is determined to go back to his shut-in, game-playing life, and one thing’s for sure, life is going to get a whole lot stranger from here on out.
