The fourth season starts with a flashback that takes us back to the emerging days of the Detective Agency, to the initial days when Fukuzawa had met Ranpo for the first, and in the course of solving a theatre mystery, Ranpo ends up following Fukuzawa and thus was established the Detective Agency.
The story soon brings back its antagonist, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and we are introduced to new a new antagonist Anton Pushkin. With the emergence of a new serial killing murder mystery, the armed detective agency also gets a warning from their member Ranpo- to not get involved with the case, as it can result in the ultimate downfall of the agency. Soon, with an interesting turn of events and a gruesome murder, the Detective Agency gets framed as national traitors and murderers. A new unit called the Hunting Dogs is introduced who have sworn to make the Agency pay for their “sins”.
With Dazai being arrested by a member of the Hunting Dogs, Atsushi in the midst of trouble and the other members of the agency nowhere to be found, how will the Detective Agency turn the tables around? Is Port Mafia on their side now?
Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5 Plot
Bungo Stray Dogs tells the story of the protagonist Atsushi Nakajima after he is kicked out of his orphanage and now, he has no place to stay and does not have food. He soon chances upon a man name Dazai Osamu, who can be described as eccentric and whimsical. Atsushi rescues Dazai from committing suicide by jumping into a river and this sets the base for the main events that are to follow in the anime.
Dazai is also accompanied by his partner Doppo Kunikida, and together they arrive at the Detective Agency, where Atsushi manages to get a job and lands as a member of the agency. The Detective Agency is one of a kind, as its members have supernatural powers, and they take on one-of-a-kind cases that even the police cannot handle. New characters are introduced along with the other members of the agency, as Atsushi navigates his way through supernatural magic and gruesome cases. Atsushi later realizes that the whole talk about the white tiger that is let loose is nothing but a part of his supernatural powers. New foes are introduced, but are they actually foes or friends?
