The episode of Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 episode 2 starts with Fukuzawa and Ranpo. They are at a theater. While watching the play, Fukuzawa notices a gentleman and finds him suspicious. But suddenly, the lead actor got unconscious on the stage. Fukuzawa calls the ambulance and declares that he is dead. The place went under the investigation of the police. The suspicious man was missing. Ranpo was also missing. While finding Ranpo, Fukuzawa was told by the manager lady that Ranpo informed her that there were two crimes that took place. Ranpo ran away from the scene.
Finally, he found Ranpo. He told him his backstory about his job and why he quit using his sword. Ranpo was anxious and Fukuzawa understood it. He told him that he had some special gifted powers that he none had. He could see the details of the situation happening. In this way, Fukuzawa tried to calm down Ranpo. He gave Ranpo a pair of glasses and told him to wear them to activate his powers and stop thinking about useless thoughts. Well, it is shown that the lead actor that was performing on the stage never died. He just acted.
The actor said that it was all planned by him and the playwright. The missing gentleman was also not the culprit. The police came and asked Ranpo to come with them. Ranpo immediately agreed to it. But the news came that the playwright was stabbed in his back. Ranpo went with the authorities. Something fishy is shown about the police detectives.

He was thinking the culprit can be Sakunosuke Oda, but the researcher who was also involved in the investigation found the culprit. He was killed by Oda. Fukuzawa met Ranpo, a young and intelligent detective and he asked for help in finding him a job. Ranpo learned that Fukuzawa was a former military man who killed a lot of people who were involved in this kind of conflict. Fukuzawa agreed to help Ranpo with a job.
