Akiba Maid War Episode 3: Summary
For the most unique pastimes and amusements, Akihabara is the hub of the universe. Nagomi Wahira, a bright-eyed young woman, goes there in the spring of 1999 with aspirations of working as a maid café. At café Ton Tokoton, also known as the Pig Hut, she swiftly dons an apron. While pouring tea and making clients happy, adjusting to life in busy Akihabara isn’t as simple. Nagomi must work hard to make the Pig Hut stand out among the other maid cafés contending for the top spot, especially when paired with the gloomy Ranko who never appears to smile. In the process, she will carve out a space for herself amidst the glitz and glamour of life at the Pig Hut. Nagomi learns not everything is as it seems just as her hopes are about to come true.

Similar to the last episode, we were given a small preview of the climax and theme, which we shall discuss shortly. Nagomi first saw Ranko having trouble cleaning her face since her hair was in the way. She handed the girl a sweet hairpin. Although in my mind it’s a step toward destiny, it’s probably just a sign of friendship. As per usual, Mr. Collector intimidated the Manager by demanding that he pay the bill as Ranko (maybe) tried to persuade him to pee. He became aware of her attractive physique and had a thought. Enter her in the Fuwa Fuwa Club, also known as the Ultimate Maid Championship (UMC). Poor Nagomi believed they had finally landed a fulfilling career.
The reason Ranko was able to defeat her champion was that our heroine was supposed to lose the bout. The manager did what she did best: she begged for forgiveness and persuaded the owner that she would put up a fantastic performance before losing in the last match. The shady seller’s body was disposed of by Ranko at the club’s request. When the seller’s men came seeking him and she showed them the footage of Ranko disposing of his corpse, she really used it as collateral should she screw her again. This made it personal for them, and should Ranko encounter her in the competition, they had their own fighter ready to murder the opponent. So who was their champion?
